A poem by Kerry Craig Walker

Kerry Craig Walker 1954-

SO YOU SAY YOU ARE A CHRISTIAN

So you say, you say you are a Christian,
So you say, you say you are a Christian.
So what have you done for me?
What have you done for me?

And there’s violence, violence all over the world,
And there’s violence, violence all over the world.
So what have you done for me?
What have you done for me?

And I’m starving, starving over here in Africa,
And I’m starving, starving over here in India.
So what have you done for me?
What have you done for me?

And you’re building, building beautiful buildings,
And you’re spending, spending billions of dollars.
So what have you done for me?
What have you done for me?

And you’re deceiving, deceiving all of you friends,
And you’re deceiving, deceiving even yourself.
So what have you done for me?
What have you done for me?

And you haven’t, haven’t even read the Bible,
And you’re frightened, frightened to question anything.
So what have you done for me?
What have you done for me?

I’m not saying, saying that there is no force,
I’m just saying, saying thoughts responsible.
And we’ll pay for it in the end.
